I saw something and had to ask myself what was that.  What in the world was I seeing and why was this being done in the house of God.  Here was the deaconess doing the electric slide in the chuch behide the door of where we say God abides.  And those in the church rejoicing in what they saw as if it was a time of praise.  It upsets my inner man to see these things.  Now in the church, ushers are backing their stuff up, church members are  dancing in the house of God to the world music and beats, deacons and deaconess are stepping like the kappa delta in college.  What is This?  Where has the church gone.  We have let our guards down.  The enemy has not just creeped in he is in and he is in influencing those in the house to be like the world. …

Heb 2:3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.  I find this  scripture  to be  one awesome question that so needs to ask the body of Christ.  How shall we escape, how shall we flee, run, hide if we neglect, negative, careless, make light of so great salvation.  I see this over and over again with  people who neglect the gospel, those who are careless and make light of their salvation.  They do what they want to do and how they want to do it and have no concern to the end result.  Those in the body seem to have forgotten where they started and being rooted and grounded in the word.  Christ is not mention, nor do we hear his life, his dealth, and his…

I am proud to admit that I’m a man of faith. I do not subscribe to blind religious ritual, but believe that for the spiritual things ‘make sense’, and that spiritual logic tends to unfold as the Creator begins to reveal it to the human mind. That said, I wish to share something I discovered in the Holy Bible.

You see, when I started sharing information with friends about health and nutrition, the fanatical  ones would tell me that they believe only in “divine health” and therefore do not need ‘drugs’ (referring to food supplements). Although I am a committed Christian, I found their stance to be irrational, and decided to look at the Holy Writ for something that could help them.

The James Merrill House Writer-in-Residence Program offers one 4-1/2 month residency between mid-January and the end of May, and three or four shorter residencies of 2 to 6 weeks during the months between Labor Day and mid-January. In recognition of Merrill’s own contributions to the Stonington community and his longstanding generosity to fellow writers, the fellowship provides living and working space to a writer in search of a quiet setting to complete a project of literary or academic merit.

The Merrill House Committee works to preserve James Merrill’s residence in Stonington CT as a tribute to him and a cultural asset to the local community. In this spirit, the Committee wishes writers-in-residence to be enriched by and also to enrich the community of Stonington. We ask those who are spending an extended (4-1/2 month) residency to present a reading of their work. We can also assist in arranging workshops, school…
